Episode 17: Manners.

Top of the show

Welcome everyone and thank you for joining us. This is valid arguments. A show about fuckwads. I’m Jeremy Horton, and Today were going to be talking about the thing that keeps our world turning, manners! We will also be arguing about clowns, and relevant legislation. Joining me today is Mr. Milo Mordhorst on my right. (Milo intro). And Mr. Joel Barkley on my left. (Joel intro). Thank you both, now I’ll get into the questions in a minute but first a quick word from our sponsor today.

Questions I will ask:

  •  Let’s start with a simple one. Now I’m not a big advocate of capital punishment, but when it comes to certain people, I think a firing squad wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. My first question is should we give people that don’t say thank you, the death penalty?
  •  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Old people suck. Do you know who else sucks? Young people. Young people will bitch about really anything, and the youth is looking more and more like a bunch of dead eyed mouth breathers every day. My question is about technology. Do you guys think that the massive technological advancements we’ve seen recently, have contributed to these bad-mannered shitheads?
  • Palette cleanser/segment – Is a fear of clown’s irrational?
  • There’s nothing I hate more than some mannerless little kid in the grocery store screaming, throwing themselves on the ground, and threatening to stab cashiers with a fondue fork. So, should you be able to discipline other people’s kids if they’re being shitheads in public?
  • This episode is kind of lacking my usual fun facts. Let me share one with you guys about manners. 71% of hiring managers said they valued their employees’ emotional intelligence over their IQ. According to Brighton. With that statistic in mind do success and good manners go hand in hand?
  •  Palette cleanser/segment – you get to make one law, what is it?
  • Driving to the studio today I saw a smidge of grass. The reason I only saw a little bit of grass is that where the grass was supposed to be, there was a bunch of Styrofoam bullshit being thrown out of car windows all along the road. I think this one will be a Valid argument. Chemical castration for people that litter? We only get one earth.
  • I am not a big fan of our school system. I think they teach us a lot of less than important things that prepare us for little more than more time in school, while life skills are slashed or cut out all together from the curriculum. Next question is should manners be taught in school?
  •  Palette cleanser/segment –
  • how do we solve this thing?

Outro: *summarize Joel and Milo end arguments* I think that both sides have………………Valid Arguments. Tonight’s winner had this to say. T stands for being nice. T stands for manners. T stands for being polite, Mr. T ladies and gentleman. If you are for good manners then I suggest you get in touch with an etiquette school in your area and see how you can help out. If you want manners outlawed entirely, then just keep being a jackass.  If you decide to do nothing, then at the very least, keep arguing and talking about it. Because the only way we solve any controversial issue, is to argue about it.

I’d like to thank you all for joining us, and thanks milo and Joel for your thoughts on the subject.
